Capacity Building for the CDM in ACP countries

The ACP-CD4CDM Project aims at enabling select countries from Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific Region to fully participate in the carbon market.

The ACP-CD4CDM Project is part of the European Commission Programme for Capacity Building related to Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEAs) in African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Countries. The Project will enable the participating ACP countries to fully participate in the carbon market.

The activities implemented within the Project will develop and facilitate knowledge in the target ACP countries that should enable them to fully participate in the global carbon market. The goal at the end of the Project is that these countries will be able to identify, design, approve, finance, implement and monitor CDM projects that both address their sustainable development priorities and offer cost-effective options for carbon credit buyers to comply with obligations under the Kyoto Protocol.
