The workshop aims at being a come-together of researchers working on mathematical and/or algorithmical aspects of tomography. Special emphasis is on the use of a-priori information that possibly facilitates the image reconstruction process.
Two leading international experts, Peter Gritzmann (Technische Universität München, Germany) and Gabor T. Herman (City University of New York, USA), will present in their keynote a snapshot about their current research. Peter Gritzmann's talk will focus on mathematical results in Discrete Tomography (in this field one tries to reconstruct discrete objects, such as atoms, crystals, or binary objects.) Gabor Herman's talk, on the other hand, centers around the question how prior information can be used in connection with the algebraic reconstruction technique (ART). The keynotes are complemented by several shorter talks.
The meeting is hosted by the Department of Informatics and Mathematical Modelling of the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and the center "Metalstructures in 4D" of Risoe-DTU.
Participation is free for all, and students are especially encouraged to attend the workshop. We kindly ask all participants to register with Eva M. Nielsen mailto:evmn@risoe.dtu.dk
